Farewell Adamsville

Well, today was my last Sunday in Adamsville. It is yet another in a series of goodbyes that have been a part of my life in the last week or so. I learned a lot in my year in Adamsville, not just about rural living, but about myself. The people there have been very gracious and patient with me, allowing me to learn and to grow with them. I was always amazed how readily they accepted me and just how much respect came with the title of Vicar. And although I am a little sad to see our time together end, I'm ready for the next challenge. As to Adamsville, they are headed in the right direction. Attendance and giving are both up about 20% since I started there last summer. If they can sustain that kind of growth for another two years, they should be able to call a full time pastor. In the mean time, they will be working with an intern from Trinity, which is a step in the right direction.
