Rough musings because I am too fried to form them into a coherent post:
During a group session today I happened across an interesting thought. In sociology we learned about Max Weber and his famous study of suicide. It is an intensive study, but what he basically finds is that suicide is linked to what he called "anomie" (pronounced an-O-me). Anomie is basically normlessness. It is caused by the erosion of that which brings meaning and structure into people's lives.
Then I got to thinking about postmodernism and the impact that it has on the world. Is it possible that postmodernism has set us on the path to some sort of massive cultural anomie?
As my professor Dr. Powell said, one of the greatest challenges facing the church for the years to come is providing meaning to life.

wait, isn't it the church's job to hasten the coming of Christ, i.e. bring on the end times?? that's what i've been devoting my life to all these years, don't tell me i have to stop training to be a horseman of the apocalypse... :(
Kmn, why doesn't this revelation of yours shock me?
David, it's deathbybeebles.joeuser.com
just in case I don't see you at worship tomorrow, which is highly unlikely, given that you're preaching...
