When I was thinking about CPE, I don't think that I realized how much of it I was going to be taking home. I don't mean the papers and the reading, although, I wasn't counting on that either. I mean, even when I am at home, trying to rest, I find myself replaying things that happened during the day. I run the same scenes over and over again, looking for places where I fell short, for things that I could have done better. Worse than that, I'm torn about whether I should even be doing that. On one hand, you want to have a certain distance, but these are people that I am working with. This must be why it is so important for pastors to have a well-defined day off each week.
I have to admit, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by this whole process.

I hear you! I take a lot home as well... especially when I'm on call. Most of the time (even when I'm not on call) I wind up thinking about the hospital. Let me know if you ever want to process through anything or just get together and not talk about CPE at all. =)
By the way, under your working theories section, mine should be the other way around. You are a morning person if you are a "J", not a "P."
