First of all, I'm sorry that I haven't been posting more. Things have gotten rather busy at seminary and so posting is becoming more difficult. I do have a swarm of ideas swirling around.
I saw on CNN this morning feature piece about the rising popularity and effectiveness of home-based selling. This is practice of selling in individual homes, often at parties. The Pampered Chef, Candlelight, and Tupperware are classic examples of this practice.
It occurred to me how much this sounds like what so many churches are doing, home-based ministry. Small groups meet in individual homes to share mutual concerns and joys and to grow in faith. For once it seems that the church may actually have gotten the drop of the business world.
