A driving ambassador

About 6 months ago, I got a set of decals in my Wired magazine. After I used them to write, "The Mystery Ship" on the side of my car, I had a few pieces left and I used them to put a cross on the back of my car. I knew that I was going to have to think about how I drive.

I don't know about you, but my car is one of the places that I do not always do the best job reflecting God's presence in my life. For example, I was entering a construction zone and two lanes were required to merge into one lane. You know how this goes, not so well. By the time that you get to the front of the line, you don't want to let anyone else it, you just want to GO! I was about to try to cut this guy off, when I realized, as soon as I get in front of this guy, he is going to get a great view of the back of my car, and the cross that I put there. So, I let him in.

I'm not too proud of my next thought either, "Man, this is a crappy deal. If I cut him off, he knows I am a Christian and I just did him wrong, but when I let him in front, nothing!" I know that I don't have to start with the lesson on doing the right thing for the wrong reason, I'll just leave you with a verse: Matthew 6:2-4. You know, I heard Chris Rice speak on time, and he suggested that we should tidy up a public restroom when we use one. It is a humble way to serve, and only you and God will know.

Be careful, the least of these might just be in that other car!
